Family and friends know how much I love food and enjoy cooking and most think, well that makes sense because I’m also a Registered Dietitian! I certainly have a part of me that looks at recipes through a “health and nutrition” lens and will often tweak recipes with that intention but that doesn’t mean everything I make fits into some perfect idea of nutrition. My number one criteria for these recipes is that it must taste great, perhaps even amazing!
I have been notorious for not following recipes exactly as written because I always want to adjust an ingredient or add something that wasn’t listed. It’s fun for me and I think that’s the true beauty behind cooking! Family and friends have requested recipes over the years and as much I love making food for them personally, it’s actually the best compliment when they want the recipes for themselves. I’m happy to finally have a place to share my favorite homemade recipes with you all. I think it would be wonderful to someday have a family cookbook or “secret family recipes” to pass down to my future children and grandchildren, so this is the place where I start. Enjoy!
