These little homemade pecan tarts are always a party favorite. During the holiday season these fit right in with all the homemade chocolate and cookies people pass around. Also a little tip is to make sure the crust is as thin as possible. Remember it’s a mini pecan tart!
Ingredients
For the dough/crust
- 6oz. Cream Cheese
- 1 Cup Butter, Unsalted
- 2 Cups Flour
For the filling
- 2 Tbsp butter, unsalted
- ½ Cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 Eggs
- 4 tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ Cup pecan pieces (not too small, about halves)
- ½ tsp salt
- Sprinkle cinnamon
Instructions
For the dough/crust
- With an electric mixer, cream the butter and cream cheese in a bowl.
- Add the flour to it and combine.
- Scoop out about 1 Tbsp of the dough and roll into small balls, then with your fingers, spread the dough into the mini tart pan for the crust.
For the filling
- With an electric mixer, cream butter and brown sugar, add maple syrup in a bowl.
- Stir in the eggs, vanilla, pecans, salt and cinnamon.
- Spoon 2 tsp of filling into each crust.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes depending on your oven. Aim for a nice golden crust.
